Shikwa Jawab e Shikwa

 

Shikwa Jawab e Shikwa is one of the famous poems written by Allama Iqbal. In this poem, Allama Iqbal has shown the role of a Muslim who is complaining to Allah Almighty that we have made so many sacrifices for you and your religion, but you are still angry with us.

In fact, this poem was written in two parts, the first part was "Shikwa" and the second part was "Jawab e Shikwa". In the first part, a Muslim is complaining to Allah Almighty and in the second part, it is shown as if Allah Almighty Answers those complaints. As soon as "Shikwa" came to light, many Muslim scholars issued fatwas on Allama Iqbal.
Allama Iqbal wrote this poem on the theme of a poem by John Wilton "Paradise Lost" and "regained Paradise".

In this poem, Allama Iqbal re-taught the Muslims their forgotten lesson. He told them how great the ancestors of the Muslims were and what their life was like. Allama Iqbal said that if their ancestors ruled the world, then what qualities were found in them. And if today's Muslims are declining, what are the flaws in it?

Iqbal recited Shikwa for the first time in a gathering that was organized by Anjuman E Himayat e Islam in 1909. While Jawab e Shikwa was recited in 1913 in a political rally held outside the Mochi Gate in Lahore.
